The Dynamic Compression Sector (DCS) is located at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory.  Visit the Argonne website for additional information on dining, registration, and site entry.

Transportation To/From O’Hare and Midway Airports

United Limousine Services offers transportation to/from Argonne National Laboratory.  Reservations are required in advance.  United Limousine Services can be reached at 800-331-9037 (toll-free) or 630-969-3865 (local).

Accommodations Onsite

The Argonne Guest House offers a preferred rate to APS users.  Please contact the Argonne Guest House directly to secure your reservations by dialing (630) 739-6000 or by visiting their website to request a reservation.

Directions to the Dynamic Compression Sector

From the Chicago O’Hare International Airport:

1. Drive east (toward Chicago) on Interstate 190 to the exit for Interstate 294 south (toward Indiana);
2. Go south on Interstate 294 to the exit for Interstate 55 south (toward St. Louis) (Note: I-294 is a tollway)
3. Take I-55 south to the exit for South Cass Avenue;
4. Exit at South Cass Avenue, drive over the overpass, and you will see the sign for Argonne National Laboratory;
5. Follow the signs and turn into the Laboratory entrance on Northgate Road;
6. Unless you have an Argonne or APS User Badge, you will need to stop at the Argonne Welcome Center.

From the Chicago Midway International Airport:

1. Drive north to I-55 South;
2. Take I-55 south to the exit for South Cass Avenue;
3. Exit at South Cass Avenue, drive over the overpass, and you will see the sign for Argonne National Laboratory;
4. Follow the signs and turn into the Laboratory entrance on Northgate Road;
5. Unless you have an Argonne or APS User Badge, you will need to stop at the Argonne Information Center and pick up your Visitor Badge.

Visitor Badge

Please stop by the Argonne Welcome Center, which is located on the right before the Argonne Main Gate (North Gate), to pick up your Visitor Badge.

Parking

The 438 Parking Lot is the closest to the DCS. If this lot is full, please park in the 401 lot or on the side of the road.

Directions to the Argonne Guest House, the Advanced Photon Source (APS), and DCS:

After passing through the ANL Main Gate, turn left on Outer Circle Road. You will pass through two stop signs. Shortly after the second stop sign (Meridian Drive), you will see a sign for the APS on the left. Turn left, toward the Argonne Guest House. The APS is visible as you pass the Guest House, ~0.3 miles (0.5 km) to the southeast. The APS (Building 401) main parking lot will be directly in front of you. For closer parking, turn right and continue on to the 438 Parking Lot, which is in front of the DCS.
